Some people like Taylor Swift.... some don't. I am a huge fan of hers.
Many of you may or may not know how much I love music. I guess I get that from my brother, but I find meaning in every song I listen to. If I have bad day, if I miss Jamie, if I wish Carson and I got along a little better that day, or if I had wonderful Girls Night... I gotta song for it. I have songs that remind me of so many people. People that probably wouldn't even know that I linked that song to them or remember that they ever sung it with me.... but I do. Most of the time its for the lyrics but other times just because "we" love the song and danced / sung it! But Taylor Swift has a way of writing songs that I admire (because she does write most of her songs, and actually wrote all of her songs on her new CD Speak Now). In high school I had a few notebooks that I wrote in.... a lot of poems. I often wonder what all is written in those books. Maybe one day I will get them out. Sometimes I have crazy flashbacks of my notebooks when I listen to her songs. Or sometimes I think "Yes that is what I meant" or "Wow, how does she come up with words to explain that feeling" I think that it is funny how all her songs are not only written by her, but they mean something. She don't just write songs that people want to hear, she writes songs about someone in her life. Almost like her CD's are her "notebooks" and I admire that.
Never Grow Up is a wonderful song. I think about so many different people when I listen to it. It can pertain to everyone, at any age.... with any combo. In the video it is a mother / daughter relationship.... but I have thought about it (of course) as a mother / son song too. I hope you enjoy it!
