I am not an English teacher, and have no intention on ever being one. I know that my writing skills are not the best. I really do proof read, but I am sorry if there are mistakes. This blog is for fun... like a journal for my kids. I just let all you in.... take it or leave it! Thanks for reading!

What's Dat?

Over the last few weeks I have noticed my son is getting a Kentucky accent.  Where is this coming from????  You hear it the most when he says "What's dat (that)" and "I can't" (with a very thick accent).  I don't know where this is stemming from.  Jamie and I don't have much of accents and we sure as heck don't say "dat"  We haven't been to Kentucky and stayed long enough to develop an accent and no one in our family even talks like that.  So where does it come from?
I have also noted a few quotes from my little man that just make me smile.  Kids are so funny sometimes!  I have to write these down!
- A boy at church said, "I wanna praise Jesus" and Carson said, "I want Chuck E Cheeses too"
- "Mommy will you lay with me a couple while" Instead of "couple minutes or little while"
- Jamie loves to say "No Way" and Carson says "Yes Way"  It is really cute when they get into it!
- "I so excited" about everything like going to the library, getting his haircut, etc.
- Tells Daddy, "When I get big, I'm gonna shoot boom booms at pirates"
- "Get back here you import punk" It's on Mater's Tall Tales!
- "Mommy, I want you to say Yes"
- "Hey, You! Chalk - O - Lot" This came from when Jamie was in Haiti in 2004.... it is what all the Haitian Children would come up and say to him (ask for Chocolate) Some how this quote has stayed around in our house and now Carson runs around saying it all the time.
And the questions have started...
-"Daddy why you go to work"
-"Mommy, when is Daddy coming over" I keep telling him that Daddy lives here and it is When is Daddy coming HOME, but he still asks if he going to come over instead!  It makes me laugh all the time!
- "Where does my poo poo go"
- "Why is Kentucky so far away"
And half the time he blames everything on my parents.... "Maw-Maw says it"  "I do it with Pa-Pa" and "Oh Maw-Maw and Pa-Pa have that at there house in Kentucky" are a few that I get all the time!
I took this video of him saying a few things... he don't really get the accent off in "Can't" but he says it really funny when I don't tell him to say it!  I try to do the accent in the video (I don't really say it like that!)
