Carson's New Obsession

It is funny to see how fast Carson's interests change.  One week he LOVES Toy Story and can't go a hour without talked about it, playing with a toy or watching the movie!  Then just like like Buzz ends up at the bottom of the toy box and it is on to something else.... although he was into Cars for quite sometime and we can't wait to see Cars 2 this summer or fall (I can't keep up with the release date).  But Carson's new thing, is Thomas the Tank Engine.  Now, I am not quite sure how I feel about this... trains are fine, love that they "talk" but have you ever watched that cartoon??? BORING!  I don't mind watching Toy Story or Cars for the 653 time, but I can't even get threw one episode of Thomas and they only last about 12 minutes before that theme song starts up again!  The newest Movies are not too bad, like Hero of the Rails and Return to Misty Island, but sometimes I still don't get it.  Oh and have you ever tried to read your kids the books about Thomas?  I don't even understand them!  They are chuck full of words, words, words and very hard to follow.  Let's just say I bought Carson the "Beginner Reader" Thomas Books so that there were very few words and I could at least tell him what was going on!  Another thing... you know those pamphlets that come with any toy, you know the ones that shows the other trains you can buy (and normally get tossed out before you can even unfold it)... well my son LOVES these!  He has to have them.  He got a book in a train set that he got for Christmas that just has page after page of the trains that are out there and I had to tape it this morning because it was falling apart.  He carries it everywhere!  And one more thing.... why in the world is Thomas' best friend's name "Percy" cause you know that no child under the age of 3 will be able to correctly say that!  I will let you use your imagination and figure out what it comes out sounding like.... lets just say, Jamie and I giggle about it almost everyday!  Gosh, we need to grow up! lol
